Answers to Snowy School Days & Delayed Openings

Posted Date: 12/15/25 (02:28 PM)

Dear SSES Families:

I hope news of our delayed opening this morning was shared with you in enough time to allow for childcare planning. As we move into the winter season, weather conditions can change quickly, and there may be additional weather-related adjustments to the school day in the coming months.

I received several calls this morning with questions about bus arrival times, the start of the school day, and recess. When there is a two-hour delayed opening, families can expect:

  • Buses to arrive at stops two hours later than usual;

  • Lunch will be served; and

  • Recess will not be held on days with a delayed opening or early dismissal.
