SUN PROTECTION on FIELD DAY

Field Day is just around the corner, and we are gearing up for a fantastic day of outdoor fun, games, and team spirit! Because our students will spend most of the day outside in the sunshine, practicing proper sun safety is our top priority.

Please review the important guidelines below to help keep your child protected from the sun:

• Apply Sunscreen at Home: Please apply a generous layer of broad-spectrum sunscreen to your child before they arrive at school in the morning.

• If you would like your child to have another application of sunscreen during the day:

  • Complete Sunscreen Consent: Please complete, sign and return consent with sunscreen bottle.

  • Send a Labeled Bottle: Students may bring their own bottle of sunscreen for reapplication. The bottle must be clearly labeled with your child's first and last name.

  • Self-Application Only: For safety and policy reasons, students must be able to apply their own sunscreen. Staff will supervise but cannot physically apply it.

• Wear Sun Shirts: We highly encourage students to wear lightweight, light-colored sun shirts or UV-protective clothing.

• Bring a Hat: Send your child with a baseball cap or wide-brimmed hat to protect their face and eyes. Please label the inside of the hat with their name.
